Emetres is a Venezuelan-Catalan indie-latin-pop visual and sonic artist living in Berlin since 2017. A seasoned performer who has her musical roots in blues, jazz and choral groups in her youth in France, Emetres draws from the pool of Natalia Lafourcade and Rosalia to create her very own musical vision with a sense of "distilled Latina".

 

Emetres' new direction draws on the lyricism and sensibility of these roots, exploring a soundscape inspired at times by contemporary electronic artists and a strong Latin folk heritage. Her songs tackle feminist themes with a deeply personal approach in songs like Sanity and Mistakes, but also the familiar and nostalgic in Cheo and San Isidro. The year 2024 will be a milestone for Emetres, with the release of her debut album.
